Equipment
Photographing consist of being an artist and a technician. The artist draws feelings from the subject and then expresses these feelings through their composition.
The technician uses his skills and talents to capture these moments and entice the observer to share in the artist feelings.
Photographing nature and people demands the artist to vision and anticipate changing moments.
The technician must prepare in advance not to let the photo opportunity pass by.
The technicians equipment must be able to capture the composition as the artist sees it.
Pointing a camera and pressing the shutter does not necessary produce the desired effect.
Proper cameras, lenses, set-ups, and exposure settings must be used to capture the artist expression.
Now that I am offering prints and photo services, I do my best to leave nothing to chance. After spending the last three years using my reliable Canon EOS 20D, I added the new Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III. Top those two cameras with Canon professional L series lenses and the technician has the tools they need to capture the composition as seen by the artist.

EOS 1DS Mark III (excerpt from Canon)
An entirely new 21.1 megapixel full-frame Canon CMOS sensor delivers astounding image quality and creates new photographic possibilities.
Dual “DIGIC III” Image Processors work in tandem to speed up data handling and camera operation, while further refining imaging performance.
Tough, high-durability body and shutter designs, combined with the unique EOS Integrated Cleaning System, set new standards for professional dependability.
Cutting-edge features—such as a large 3.0-inch LCD monitor with Live View Function, and a fast, precise 45-point AF system—make the EOS-1Ds Mark III
powerful and versatile.
EOS 20D
While not having a full-frame sensor, this 8.2 MP megapixel camera delivers quality photos.
It continues to be a very reliable camera which is much lighter then the larger Mark III.
This camera has meet all my demands over the years. I have no concerns about using it as a back-up camera, or a choice when I am on the move.
Whenever I am photographing an event, this camera will be with me. Both as a back-up and to accommodate a different lens.
Lenses
Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM:
Otherwise know as the wedding lens. It's speed and ability to capture the moment under low light has made this lens
very popular along professional wedding photographers. This wider angle zoom offers the ability to capture your entire wedding party.
Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM :
Offers me the flexibility of having a fast telephoto zoom lens with a stabilizer, so I don't have to be in your face
during those special occasions.
Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-f5.6 IS USM lens:
While not having the high quality glass as the L series, this lens is a performer.
This image stabilizer lens is specifically designed for the EOS 20D smaller image sensor.
